Did the Netanyahu government try to pull a fast one and get away with it?

These days, it is getting increasingly difficult to tell the peacemakers and the peacewreckers. The Israeli government does  a good job of appearing to be the former.

He spoke of how  the Israeli strategy should be to give minimal compromise and that “America is a thing that can be easily moved. ...moved in the right direction.”

If Netanyahu is a man who believes he can get away with giving the Palestinians as little as possible and manipulate the United States into turning a blind eye, would you talk to him if you were Abbas?
