Occasion: Business Executives for National Security Eisenhower Award presentation black tie event
BENS which call themselves “America's premier organization of business leaders working to strengthen the nation's security” present the Eisenhower Award to General David H Petraeus.
The group's president and CEO General Chuck Boyd (Retired) described Petraeus as not merely a “ consummate warrior and scholar”, “ the perfect choice” to command US troops on both the war fronts in Afghanistan and Iraq but also “unquestionably a national treasure, which he most recently demonstrated by spearheading the remarkable improvement of security in Iraq."
General Petraeus joins an illustrious list of past honorees, including former president Jimmy Carter, Secretaries of Defense William Cohen, Robert Gates, William Perry and Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Clinton Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin and Senator John McCain.
Dan-Chyi Chua was a broadcast journalist, before forsaking Goggle Box Glitz for the Open Road. A three-year foray led her through the Middle East, China, SE Asia, Latin America and Cuba, and she's now grounded herself as a writer for theasiamag.com, content with spending her days in Jerusalem.
